At Pause & Pray, we believe your relationship with God is deeply personal and sacred. We created this app not to collect data, but to gently encourage you to pause, pray, and approach your phone with greater intention.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide a meaningful prayer-before-app experience.

• Family Controls & Shield Data — When you choose apps to shield, Apple’s Family Controls framework provides us with anonymous tokens (not the actual app names or usage data). We never see which specific apps you use or how often.
• Prayer History — Stored only on your device using SwiftData. This lets you revisit prayers in your journal. Nothing is sent to our servers unless you explicitly export a prayer.
• Optional Contact Information — Only if you email us for support.

We do not collect: your name, email, location data, actual app usage patterns, or any sensitive personal information.

2. How We Use Your Information

Everything we do is designed to serve one purpose: helping you draw closer to God before you open other apps.

• Shield tokens are used solely to show the prayer screen at the right moment.
• AI-generated prayers help you reflect, give thanks, seek strength, or draw near to the Lord.
• Local prayer history allows you to look back on moments of grace.
• Aggregated, completely anonymous statistics may help us improve the app for everyone’s spiritual growth.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your prayer journal and shielded app tokens stay entirely on your iPhone, protected by Apple’s security. AI requests are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We do not store generated prayers on our servers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. The only sharing is with Apple (for Family Controls) and our secure backend for prayer generation — always with minimal, anonymized data.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You remain fully in control. You can remove shielded apps, delete your prayer history, or delete the app at any time. All local data will be removed.

6. Children’s Privacy

Pause & Pray is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will post the new version here with an updated date. Thank you for reviewing it from time to time.
